Subject: RE: Fungicide Yield Data Vs Helicopter/Plane/Ground Rig

Spring Grove MN
Tar spot is here but late enough the last 2 years to not need an application. That said, fungicide is ordered for virtually all acres for 2022. In SE MN planes are out and helicopters this last year were late coming or didn't come. We had Rantizo spray some with the t16 with their upgrades to decide what to do. I think the drone would be better than a helicopter because of the prop wash being so close to the canopy. On our odd fields I would say 15-20ac per hour with one drone is it and closer to the lower number. My local Pioneer agronomist knows a large farmer that ground rigs his flat bottoms and helicopters his hills. Had the copter do strip in bottom ground to compare and ground was 10bpa better yield AVERAGE on the checks. My brother has found some other testing indicating similar number.
