try pulling the locking pin and hold it out while the unit is running and listen carefully to hear if the squeek goes away. If it does then you can easily eliminate the squeek. If the pin was causing the squeek you can stop the pin from rubbing against the motor locking arm by moving the motor a little further away from the steering column or slightly unscrewing the locking pin (loosen the lock nut first) or by putting a little spot of grease where the pin touches the motor locking arm. Moving the pin out is not as good a change as moving the motor position, because if it is moved too far, then you might not be able to reliably lock the motor away from the steering wheel.

If the squeek does not change when the pin is pulled out, then the squeek you hear might be caused by the foam on the edge of the steering wheel. You can increase or decrease the pressure of the foam wheel against the steering wheel by pressing the motor against the wheel or away from the wheel (very slight hand pressure is needed) while listening for the squeek. If you hear a difference , then you can move the motor on the mount while locked away the same direction that reduces the squeek by hand pressure. (if you pressed the motor against the steering wheel and the squeeke went away, then latch the motor away from the steering wheel and slide the motor a little closer to the edge of the steering wheel .

If neither of these changes stops the squeek, then perhaps the shaft extender which attaches to the foam wheel has slipped on the motor shaft and is rubbing the plastic housing. To fix this it will take a bit of work with a hex wrench to open the plastic cover (4 hex head screws and you will have to deal with one of the labels holding the two halves together. an exacto kknofe works wonders!) When you get the motor covers off, you will see two set screws on the shaft extender. Make sure both of these are tight (don't overtighten and strip the threads!), and the shaft extender is close to, but not touching, the motor end plate. Check out the motor for noise before you put the cover back on the motor.

I hope this helps.
