If he got $65,000 for it helping you out a few thousand on repairs shouldn't be too painful for him.  From your comment's on here I think if the situation was reversed you would help him out.  Don't understand why he was so willing to pay for the water pump and then backed up on paying for anything else.  Got to be frustrating for you.
