Northern Nebraska | You dont always have to apply fertilizer. You don't always have to shoot for record yields. Maximum roi can be achieved by knowing and not hoping on what you have and what you could have.
Farmers need to do a better job figuring out what gives them a roi instead of these stupid blanket applications of things from seed treatment to nitrogen stabilizers, fertilizers and fungicide.
You can say all. You want about oh it does this or that but unless you tested and know it makes money or not, why waste the investment on it?
Almost daily this summer over on crop talk folks asked what micronutrients foliar would give them the best yield. Without knowing what they were deficient in or what the responding poster was deficient in.
Most farmers I talk to about fertility don't even soil sample and if they do its a composite test for a whole quarter or half section. | |
