SE MN Still in Pothole Country | Fall of 1959. It had turned wet and Dad started picking corn again when it froze. He hit rock and bent snoot on the 2-PR picker. I was 10 years old. Came home from country school and my help was requested in shop inserting and holding carriage bolts in snoot while re-installing on picker. Mother was baking banana nut bread. Between saving some for church and my brothers and sisters I never got a piece of that banana bread. Funny what you remember. |
