nw/nc iowa on the banks of West Buttrick Creek..
Remember the day when the corn picker went on, fenders off, wheels disced out, side shield put on. #4 on a 77 Oliver. Heavy picker but just not designed for 100 bu corn, lots of them broke the axels of 77's. Bad part was when picker was on we only had a hand crank A for power. We always take the picker out and make a round for a test run and put that corn in the bottom of the crib.
Also remember setting in the load of beans as my dad came around with another dump of beans with a 12A JD combine and you picked out the grasshoppers in the load. You combined all day and fixed canvases at night, maybe that is why I am not all that enthused about a draper head.
