| After several sales go that high the assessed value will be that high, but not all sales will be that high so assessed value will be less. Also if assessed value was that high, rate would go down. Its about the dollars needed (or desired). Agree property taxes are too high, especially in some areas. I think a shift to an income capability instead of absolute value is needed. WalMart can generate a lot more income off an acre than cattle can. | |
