Eastern NE KS | No sir, mating is a terra firma activity. Last 3 springs I have unfortunately witnessed the activity. As much as they enjoy riding the thermals, they become darn near flightless for mating. Timing here is late March or so.
So far for us, turkey buzzards and coyotes are not predators so they cleanup the place then crap on it. And thankfully, we are not home to black buzzards.
Haying in June, I had 20 turkey buzzards following the moco cleaning up rabbits and snakes. About the same time, a radio report talked about the turkey buzzard invasion. With this thread, it obviously is not a Kansas only thing. | |
