| I would not buy a hydrostatic drive. They do not have enough power, I don’t care what anyone says. Whatever you get it should be a shaft driven model and as far as I know that means it will likely be disc mower. Hydrostatic drive is fine in ideal conditions in good going. My New Holland 499 was a decent mower, much better than the 1600 Deere it replaced. We went to disc mowers a long time ago because you can put the power to them. A shaft drive side pull sickle mower is fine, fluid drive hydro swing sickle mower, no more of any brand for me. | |
