Southwest Illinois | True, but that is again rarely the case. I have harvested flat on the ground corn in January and we still got 90% of it. In our case it was a small amount of acres to be significant. If your crop is truly that vulnerable, I would be harvesting it now. Seems like a lot of folks grasping at straws for a reason for a market rally. The only real potential for a rally is if the yields truly are worse than the market expects. While there will be areas of poor crops and areas of great crops, the market will most likely not react unless the areas of poor crops are larger and lower yielding than expected. A few Illinois guys getting 180-200 bushel corn does not sound the alarm for me in the state of Illinois. | |
