east grand forks, mn | Sorry to tell you this, but we have had both issues happen twice. Leaking valve cover around 1800hrs then broken exhaust bolts at 2200 hrs. Then at 2800 hrs the exhaust bolts broke again and cracked the manifold. I sourced a used manifold from a junkyard as they don't make that style anymore. Then at 3700, the leaky valve cover came back. I wish the hood was velcroed on. It would make things a little simpler.... There is an updated heat shield to put on the exhaust manifold to help deflect some of the heat and hopefully help keep the valve cover gasket from leaking. However it basically just buys you time. | |
