Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA

The 6950 won’t go down in history as the best chopper of its era, but it may be one of the best cheap old machines available nowadays. The Claas 900 was better when new, but they seem to be getting to the age when something big craps out they get parked in the weeds where a 6950 might be able to be fixed up with cheaper stuff from a truck or maybe combine salvage yard. The 6000 series KP and sharpening setup can probably be described as just ok at best, but with careful/attentive maintenance and operation they work, and an awful lot of feed has been put up by those machines.
