What I think will be interesting when this is all said and done is customer loyalty to these suppliers is a burned bridge. When things settle down I think there will be hell to pay for some of these suppliers.

Doubt it, if they are still in business in the US it is because they have a lot of grit, determination and staying power. The last 30_years have been brutal on the domestic steel industry, politicians have abandoned them on trade and their customers have imported a lot of steel trying to save pennies. It happens to be a sellers, market and they are just returning the love they have been feeling.
