A water level pressure switch out of a washing machine works good. It does need air inside it though, so could theoretically get water logged and you'd have to lift it up and let the water drain out. Used one to control a pump for years, worked fine, don't think it ever waterlogged but it was weighted and hanging, so it would have been easy to lift and drain it.
