| What will be the new floor? Sorry, missed you said you wanted to get to old wood floor. If some sort of laminate or carpet, I'd leave the old floor alone. Some of the new laminates have the look of old wood without the hassle. Chuck the carpet and pad if any and start with new floor. Most likely asbestos in that old stuff. Perfectly fine to just leave it alone.
