Subject: RE: New to us SUV

East of Broken Bow
Have a 2007 Durango with over 240,000 miles, and total repairs were the outer steering knuckles ($500 ish) a water pump ($250 ish) and a sensor somewhere ($150 ish).
Other than that, it has just had routine maintanence, things like brakes tires, etc. Really has been a reliable unit for us. Taught our oldest daughter how to drive, as well.
Hauls a load good, ours is AWD and gets about 17-19 MPG, with an occasional open road run in the low 20s.
Oil level doesn't get halfway down from full to add between changes, transmission still shifts solid.

Little things to watch: Rear shocks, if they get at all worn, the rear end gets 'loose' over washboards when empty. Not a problem when loaded.
Radio- the CD player has been glitchy, the radio part is fine.
The front fenders, at the bottom, right in front of the front door will be the worst place for rust.
Drivetrain itself, has had zero issues, not even a U joint or CV boot yet.
Really, the biggest negative I can think of, is that a Suburban equipped with the right engine will have 90% of the power our Durango has, will have more room inside, and get a few MPGs better mileage.
