I’m almost 15 years out from having both of mine done. I would recommend trying to limp through harvest, then get them done.
Mine were done arthroscopic by a hand specialist. In and out of the OR in about 10 minutes. Ketamine (I woke up when they hit a filing cabinet on the way out of the or) and a breer block. First couple of days you’re still numb, They put a splint on my wrist which I think I kept on for about a week.
I pulled my own stitches - because who wants to go back to the dr to have two stitches pulled. After that point my wrist was tender, but they make an inscision in your palm which remained very tender ( like don’t try twisting a wrench tender) for at least a month - this is why I would hold off until after harvest.
My recommendation - get a prescription for custom wrist braces, and wear them literally 24/7 until you have surgery. Avoid vibration when possible.
