Cen Ks | A local Pioneer dealer has a BIG trade area east and north of Wichita. One of his employees hinted to me shortly after planting season that they were makings some "changes".... but couldn't tell me yet. A few weeks later I get a Beck's seed cap with a letter saying that they are excited to announce Beck's Seeds. I am not sure what's going on. A few years earlier another mega dealer dropped Pioneer also. Is this a trend?? Is Pioneer not taking care of their dealers?? One mega seed dealer today controls what dozen or more farmer dealers used to; does that have anything to do with it ?? Is Pioneer so inclusive that dealers feel that can't "follow the market" with what they sell? We used to plant 100% Pioneer corn and beans. We slowly weened ourselves from Pioneer after Brand X was making more ROI . | |
