Subject: RE: Water tank

SE Nebraska
I have used bleach and copper sulfate and they both work but then I don't reapply and algae starts in again. On a pasture I have with 4 tire tanks, 3 have algae and one is crystal clear. The only difference between them is the clear one has some kind of submerged water plant growing in it. There is a blackish sludge in the bottom that is a mainly made up of sand from the rural water system that it is growing in. Hornwort is the only plant online that comes close to resembling it. I was going to try and transplant some of it into another tank and see if it removes the algae in that tank as well.
