Deep heavy kernels is all that matters and in order to get that takes July, august, and early Sep moisture. I’ve seen 12 around yield better than 20 around but only if the depth and weight is there.

I’ve had 14 around outyield 18. I’ve also had it the other way but “here” kernel depth makes more difference than anything.
