The commercial yards cannot get their hands on enough 800 pound feeders right now. Everyone knows who certain order buyers buy for…….the pack must be getting nervous if their willing to pay $150/head over what a heavy feeder will work at!
Hmmm - - - - is the pack expecting the corn price to move higher?
If corn moves up a buck - - - - well they will have hedged off the corn as they bought so they know their costs.
Corn moves up - - - they don't want to pay more for the feeders (likely less).
I'm remembering something that there's more profit when feeding pricey corn than when feeding cheap corn.
But that's something that you guys know a lot more about than I do !!! (grin)
