SC Wisconsin | This is my first year growing beans in a while, I just dabbled in it when I was first starting farming and never got into them like I did corn, so went 100% corn for a while. Anyways, I put in a 2.4 bean, planted first week of May except for 20 acres I notilled after rye came off the third week of May. More by luck than anything, but my beans look outstanding due to timely rains more than anything. It seems like early beans are all the rage anymore, and early maturity on top of that. Does that move the "bushel making" time frame up? Or is it still August? My beans are over my waist, loaded with pods and putting on more pods every day, so I'm very excited for fall (as long as they don't go flat). We've been very fortunate to have amazing weather in a small area, but it looks like we aren't due for rain the first week or 2 of August. I'm just curious and still trying to learn more about the physiology of soybeans. Thanks | |
