I think you are right about MN yield. Too many poorer pockets even among the areas most people think are in good shape. At this point I think it could be possible that there is a 30-60 bushel difference or better in township average yields this year. This from a fairly small 30 by 24 mile county that was in the top 20 counties for corn production in 2020.
Just came from my BILs place the county south into IA. I think their county is just as variable. They have had 60-100% more rain than the northern end of their county next to us. There is now at least some rain in the forecast that would still help our area so I guess anything is possible.
