Southwest Illinois | We always have good subsoil moisture in southern Illinois which is why we always seem to struggle getting a crop in the spring. They 2 weeks of no rain and a blast furnace and we are burning up because we can't get roots to the subsoil. You guys are getting a taste of what farming in southern Illinois is like most years. Obviously I wish it wasn't the case for you, but you have people on here talking like the US average will be under trend line and I don't think that will be the case. A lot of years central Illinois has 250bu corn and we have 150bu. No doubt there are some tough areas, which will keep the corn yield from breaking records, but there will be plenty of good corn. You don't here hardly anyone from the 4 big states complaining about how bad their crop is. Even the ones that do are complaining about what looks to be 180, so if that is the worst........ | |
