NW Illinois Stephenson county | I went to round up the cows for milking one morning and one cow was laying in the manure alley hooked on a freestall that had broke off above the curb with her udder. I was able to get her unhooked and upright and she went through the milking parlor. I was going to send 4 cull cows to the sales barn so I loaded her up with them. When the cows were unloaded at the sales barn all of the cows were covered with blood. The cows all brought about the same money. I figure no one could tell which cow all the blood came from. And yes I manually cut off the freestall stub with a hack saw so it would not happen again. Oh the fun with livestock we have. |
