The line above in your post reminded me of a story that a family friend told years ago. She had recently retired after working in the local hospital's ER for close to a million years.
When asked about the strangest thing she saw happen in all those years she told of two "good old boys" that came in with one of them having a .22 bullet hole in each foot. When questioned they said he had been trying to shoot a beer can he was holding between his feet on the porch rail.
She said had it only been one foot not much would have been said amongst the ER employees, but when they discovered he's taken the second shot they had trouble maintaining a professional attitude. |
