Talked to 2 very good farmers, both irrigate some and dry land some. Decent sized operators
Both said 1 quarter of corn and rest beans. Both have a little corn sold for 22 is the reason for the quarter of corn.
Both said fertilizer was within a small percentage of double to raise corn, beans can scrounge for fertility.
I don’t blame them.
LOC’s between rent and fertilizer are going to be maxed or 50% larger than this year, nervousness is abound. Some are fortunate enough to not know what LOC stands for, you will be fine.
So as far as storing crops, somewhat look ahead to next year, there could be a story to be told.
if 2 very good farmers put out 1 quarter of corn AND the rest soybeans---I have no idea how much (rest is) soybeans (but willing to guess a bunch)
They should buy out of their very little corn sold AND plant all soybeans
IF they don't do that they are not good time managers
Just saying and by next spring MUCH will change
Dan
Had to add we are putting out all corn next year AND much has to change before we change to some soybeans
