Subject: RE: Double crop for grazing?

NW IL
Winter cereal of choice grazed in spring, then terminated by favorite method, followed by summer annuals, depending on variety could get 2 grazing passes off, then I'd no-till an oats/pea/ forage brassica mix about 35-45 days before first frost for later summer/fall grazing again. Works well if you have the perennial pasture to graze them on while things grow.

I also know a farmer in IN that has planted a few specific paddocks into summer perennials for grazing this time of year. It's worked well for him. If left to rest and regrow a bit they'll carry nutrition into the winter.
