West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12 | Kind of a fun interactive map that shows the current, last week, and last month expanding drought conditions in MN, and the stats for each county. 75% is now officially classified as being in a severe drought situation. 22.1% of MN is in a extreme drought situation.
I'm located right on the edge of the severe/extreme red area on the Meeker/Wright County line in the center of the State. The extreme red blob should extend a little further from Litchfield North of hwy 12 to the meeker/wright county line IMO...there are some pretty tough looking fields on the County line.

...DROUGHT WORSENING IN MINNESOTA WITH EXTREME DROUGHT
CLASSIFICATION IN PARTS OF THE STATE FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2013..
LOCAL DROUGHT OUTLOOK...
Our hot and generally dry weather pattern is forecast to persist
into August, with several days of highs in the 90s expected to end
the month. These hot and dry conditions will only lead to a
continued deterioration of drought conditions, with some expansion
of drought conditions across western Wisconsin possible. With the
current 6-10 day, 8-14 day, and weeks 3 and 4 outlooks from the
Climate Prediction Center all favoring above normal temperatures and
below normal precipitation, no relief from current drought
conditions is expected any time soon.
However, with just 22% of the states topsoil moisture rated as
adequate, further degradation in crop conditions is likely.
My ancestors complained about how dry it was in the 30's...pffft.
