Western Oregon
Marie Callendars if I have to but I just as soon have homemade chicken pot roast. I cook the fresh from the garden vegetables in a pot with a little chicken broth and a diced chicken breast with a little butter in a skillet, brown, sprinkle with flour, stir once and add the vegetables and broth, let simmer until it thickens. If I want bread, I top with a drop biscuit. I really like the Dollar Tree salt free seasoning for flavoring. I also do the same and add a couple dumplings to the pot and keep the lid on tight until done. Dumplings come out the size of a drop biscuit, very light, moist and fluffy. Secret to my dumplings is 1/2 chicken broth and 1/2 the water called for. We can our chicken and broth with no salt, just very finely diced celery and onion....James
