Bobwhite quail when I grew up were everywhere, then the winters of 77 and 78 came along and just about wiped them out. Still do not see many but have seen a bit more last few years. Yesterday while mowing waterways, came upon Mama quail chasing a sparrow, seemed odd plus she didn't fly away till I got plenty close. I stopped and sure enough saw grass moving and 4 little ones took off. They are so small yet they could fly. All landed pretty close to where Mom was. I'm hopping my covers are helping them, sure seems to be helping rabbit population! Just a neat thing to see.

I've had Quail Habitat planted for several years.

Mostly around the field borders where there are woods. I always knew the combine got quiet near a woods.....but after I got a yield monitor it really opened my eyes.

Anyway, the habitats do work.......I'm seeing a lot of quail.
