NE Nebraska | A real gem - and young enough that you can still train. We had an abandoned dog show up that we tried to keep for several years but finally had to rehome. It was used to roaming so whenever it heard a sound it took off. It visited most neighbors within a several mile radius, railroad crew working on the tracks, etc. We tried a shock collar but it didn't phase her. My parents had an abandoned puppy show up at the perfect time in their lives- proved to be a great companion in their elder years. Dad's now gone and my Mom (87) and the dog carry on still living at home. Both facing their own health issues. Don't understand why people abandon them, but sometimes it works out. | |
