As others have said, its blossom end rot and caused by a lack of calcium UPTAKE. Often times the soil calcium levels are adequate but the plant is unable to take up enough due to drought. If you have adequate soil calcium levels , a good watering often helps the problem In a garden setting, as others have said, apply epson salts or spread all your eggs shells around where where you intend to plant your tomatoes next year. Fungicides will have no effect as it a nutrient related issue.
