Subject: RE: garden - watering methods

Western Oregon
I use both, mostly raised beds now. Berries and such I use soaker hoses because I had them, I run it down 1 side and back the other. Cut to length and fold over, waters row more evenly. I find 20 lb pressure regulator helps, just run longer. The rest is on emitters on timers and pressure regulator. Bigger main pipe, small pipe to each plant, 2 emitters to each as a back-up. Rows or bed type plantings have drip tape with slits all along pipe. 2 in each 3'wide bed or one for each row. I feel it waters heavier at feed end too but because of low pressure, not as bad. We travel a lot but are home at least every other week. Has worked well....James
