Drip tape or a drip line with emitters will do a much better job of distributing the water equally along the line, especially if the row or area is not flat. Soakers tend to put more water out near the source and less further down the line. You can also get emitters, micro sprayers, and bubblers for special situations.
I have used drip irrigation for years in vegetables and ornamental beds and Dripworks is where I buy my drip irrigation stuff. Trying to piece together a drip system from parts at a hardware or home center will drive you nuts.
