Illinois Heartland | Don’t know about steam clean, but these new ovens you really have to be careful with.
We put in a better quality KitchenAid double wall oven when we built our new house a few years ago. First time we ran the self cleaning oven, it ruined the chrome racks inside turning them purple. Called KitchenAid and they said oh yeah, your supposed to remove them, it’s in the manual.
Went back and looked and buried in fine print in a section you would never think to look in said to remove them.
It also ruined the inner door glass and frosted it up. When I went to order replacement parts, the racks were already obsolete and unavailable. Will never buy KitchenAid again.
Instead of the Self Cleaning mode, my wife affectionately calls it the Self Destruct mode and we don’t use it anymore. | |
