I had a mayo doctor too, after local one was not optimistic about success. Had a real basket case. Long painful recovery and about 6 months of pt. I now have most of my strength and all of my motion back. Recovery and pt was rough. Not sure if I could get mentally prepared to do it again.
Took a little over a year before I got full function back.
