My maternal GF did manual greenhouse labor, bought a greenhouse, then sold it and worked for greenhouse flower business until he was 72 , passed at 75 lung cancer/smoking. His employement to the end in 1974 was 13 , 10 hr. days on and then a Sunday off.....all for $1.75 hr.... |
