Beale Street, if you like music and the bar scene. One of my favorite places is the Rum Boogie Cafe, great live music and the Memphis Platter is a pretty darn good plate of food. Across the street is Silky O'Sullivan's which has dueling pianos, always a good time. Peabody Hotel is neat and you can watch the ducks go for their walk. I never made it to Elvis's mansion but heard it's pretty neat to tour. With any big city, I'd be careful at night. Beale Street is patrolled pretty heavily but once you get on the trolley, it can get pretty sketchy during the late hours.
I should've mentioned the safety warning too, there are guard towers in the store parking lots for a reason. Unlike a lot of places there isn't a defined good and bad part of town, very intermingled. My BIL's vehicle got broken into in the driveway of their very expensive home |
