NW Iowa
I would disagree on the absolutely zero potential being lost. Ken Ferrie and other agronomists consistently say to reach maximum potential the corn cannot have a bad day. If it is curling by noon it is having a bad day. While May and June are not as important as July and August they do set up July and August as dry hot weather this time of year make it that much more important for a cooler wetter rest of the summer.
