Subject: Delaval classic robots and the moon.

north east IN

Three years ago we put in robots and the first thing we had problems with was the seal on the air cylinders wanted to blow out. We decided we could make parts better and cheaper then Delaval’s so we bought some 3D printers and steve learned how to draw the parts in cad. We made something that clamped on the end on the cylinder and held the seal in. We continued to make different parts like most of the head parts a d most of them just a couple of changes to our drawing and they worked. We got to the wash cup and at around 10k milkings the sand would cut a hole in Delaval’s cup from spinning around where it went out the hose and you hooked the 3 hose on took 15 minutes to put together with there wedge clamps and you would end up jabbing yourself with the screwdriver. We drew it up and put some fins in the bottom to stop the spin and that fixed the problem except for the wedge clamps. We sat down an redesigned the whole thing and got rid of all the o rings and wedge clamps. That basic design is what we still use but had to make a bunch small changes. First one lasted 2k milkings then 4K, 6k, 9k, 15k. The next to last model went 38k but was too brittle and wanted to break if it got hit hard. On the last model we went to a different material and are at 15k milkings and it looks brand new and thinking we could get 100 k milkings out of it. When we started selling parts I did it through fb, text and Messenger. Mary said we should start a web site so in January we started 3dagparts.com when you look at a web site the owner can see where you are located at and if you have bought from them will give your name and a lot of info. We have had people from at least 21 different countries look at out parts. This is where the moon phase comes in we can go weeks without an order then we will get swamped  with a bunch of orders on the same day. I have not talked to anyone for a month and yesterday I had a chat on the web site and within 15 minutes someone asked me a question on messenger it has to be the moon phases. Had some other business tell me that is quit common.
