NDSU has done some work on cattails for blackbird control, much better results when sprayed at 6 feet, basically a get ready for next year thing. Locally FWS has been spraying out some cattail sloughs and are stone dead the next year, apparently they discovered Indians considered them a weed in their rice beds, go figure.
