Subject: RE: Killing cat tails

Windom, MN
Back in the early 70s, we had an area that was always wet and had cat tails. Grandpa put in a lift pump and drained it. Fast forward to 2018, the lift pump failed, and I ended up having to get a new one. While it was out getting rebuilt (used same shafts, just a new and bigger pump on the end) it was super wet and drown everything out. Didn't bother running it anymore since it was already past replant date, and cat tails started growing again. Crazy to me that almost 50 years later they started again. Anyway, last 3 years I sprayed them and tilled, lift pump works good now, and they are no longer a problem.
