Southern MN | One of the best posts this year I think. Pictures do say a thousand words there is no disaster out there, yet. The crop has huge potential. I think the reason a lot of us are talking, me included is this dry this time of year is very unusualfor many of us. I remember last year after a nice July rain saying that our crop was made. We were coming off several very wet years, subsoil was full. And Our crop was made, excellent yields but we were on the edge of the flash drought in Iowa, friends just 20 miles south had real disasters as it started affecting them about 2 weeks before it did us. So maybe we are over playing this, it is just very unusual. Probably 88-89 last time it was this dry here for this long?
Hope people with good crops keep posting pictures, will keep some of us a little more grounded. | |
