Subject: vacuum sealing sweet corn

Nevada, Iowa
I may have asked this before, I am getting forgetful. Does anyone here just slice corn off of the cob and vacuum seal it for freezing? We got a food sealer this year and were wondering why we couldn't just cut it off, flash freeze it on a baking sheet and vac it into pint bags. We have long been accustomed to blanching and then cooling, cutting and flash freeze then bagging in zip lock bags and it just seems a little time consuming and we tend to set up for larger batches, etc. By vacuuming we could do smaller batches and one person could do it easily, so on. Any thoughts on success with vac bagging and taste differences? Thanks
