A few weeks ago my neighbor hauled a load of fat cattle to Ft. Worth. Said water was standing in the fields south of Norfolk NE......Then green and wet all the way down. He also said it gets really dry west of 281 down through Kansas.

Get your hay up? Got bugs out there also? Bet your thankful for some Pivots!

You know a few years ago someone asked on here where the perfect area to Ranch is.............as the years have passed, I’ve changed my mind. It’s not an area with mountains in the background. It your ranch! Pivots for feed, hard SD western grass to the north, and sand hills to the south. The diversity and availability of water really makes your ranch weather proofed. Many friends of mine are really struggling north west of you 350 miles or so.........[/QUOTE

I checked a couple handfuls of alfafa about a week ago and found very few bugs. I'm sure they're going to get worse though so we knocked down a couple pivots in the last few days. Spray later if we have to. First cutting is awesome quality and volume. Getting a lot of calls for hay already.
