Subject: RE: Tune NAV II on a 4430 patriot for better line acquisition

I'll check my settings to see if I can find those. My machine holds a line rather well, no oscillations to speak of once it's on it, and seems to hold a pretty acceptable tracking error. The problem is acquiring the line. It's like it can't see the line until it's too late sometimes. GPS seems to be holding RTK pretty well. I will consult our local dealer expert. I think there's a chance it's the inertial steering sensor that could be the problem, even though path planning works perfectly well in AccuTurn, which depends on the steering sensor working. Several people on NAT have, in the past, had problems with the steering sensor, particularly with the fragile wiring on the connector that plugs into it. I haven't seen any error messages and I see no way to get diagnostic information from it about what angle it thinks it's going.
