I should add... by planting wheat I was going to gain the effect wheat has in improving soil and yields. A lot of folks here swear planting wheat every 5+ years here helps their overall average on yields. But most don’t do it out of not wanting to mess up their rotations and wheat doesn’t seem to be a big money maker here without bailing the straw and then timely rains for DC beans. I thought if I could get the wheat baled off early to not hurt beans as bad a July 4 planting after wheat cutting typically I could come out ahead and help the soil in the long run. This is a farm I’ve had litter applied to and will in the future. So hopefully not going backwards on OM with this idea
