East central Iowa | +1 on separate for at least 2 hrs.
Then put ewes next and let 1 or 2 at a time back with ewes. Takes time but will work.
When I had 140 ewes, if I wanted to keep some back I just tagged or ear notched the ones I would keep.
1 notch for firstgroup two notch for second. Then if different rams put left ear for one right for other.
I've always selected replacements at birth so I don't grab a single or odd one that had mastitis, difficult birth.
One has to have note pad and make notes as you go.
I've messed up or lost track more than I would like to admit.
