Subject: Low maintenance garden

Townsend, Montana
Has anyone ever had a successful low maintenance garden? I don't want to make a bunch of extra work for myself but I would like to have a little garden just to grow a few of my favorites - mainly kohlrabi, radishes, and sweet corn. I don't want to have to spend a bunch of time weeding and I don't want a weed patch.

I had an idea the other night - what if I just spray out a 3 or 4 inch wide strip in the lawn and plant my produce in the strip? Pretty mush no till, and much less room for weeds to grow. Then I could move the strip every year and the old strips would grow back in within a year or two.

Thoughts?
